1. What we guarantee
- The seed is the variety named on the pack.
- Germination, physical purity and genetic purity meet at least the values printed on the label, which are not below the minimum standards notified under the Seeds Act, 1966.
- This holds from the date of dispatch until the "valid up to" date on the pack, as long as the seed has been stored and sown as described below.
2. Read the label
Each pack shows the lot number, date of test, germination percentage, physical and genetic purity, "valid up to" date, net quantity and any seed treatment. Keep the empty pack or a photo of it until the crop is harvested. The lot number is how we trace your seed.
3. Your part
- Keep packs sealed in a cool, dry, shaded place, away from fertiliser and chemicals.
- Once opened, sow the seed within a few days or reseal it tightly.
- Sow in the recommended season, in well-prepared nursery beds or trays, with correct depth and moisture.
4. Test germination at home
- Count 100 seedsTake them from the same pack, or 50 if the pack is small.
- Roll them in wet paperSpread them on two layers of moist paper towel or newspaper, roll it up loosely and keep it in a plastic bag in the shade at room temperature.
- Count the sproutsAfter 7 to 10 days (up to 14 for onion and melons), count the seeds with a healthy root and shoot. That number is your germination percentage.
A home test is a guide only. Our reference test follows the Indian Minimum Seed Certification Standards.
5. Making a complaint
- Germination: within 15 days of sowing, and before the "valid up to" date.
- Off-types or wrong variety: as soon as it is visible, at flowering or first fruiting, while the crop is still in the field.
- Send your order or invoice number, the lot number, photos of the nursery or field, and any unused seed and empty packs.
6. How we check
- We test our retained reference sample of the same lot, and your unused seed if available, in our laboratory or an accredited seed testing laboratory.
- For field complaints, our agronomist may inspect the field, alone or with you and your dealer.
- We share the result with you, usually within 15 working days.
7. What we do
If the seed is below the label standard, we replace it with seed of the same or an equivalent variety free of charge, or refund the price paid for the affected seed. If you prefer to have the dispute decided by the seed inspector or another authority under the law, you remain free to do so.
8. What is not covered
- Yield, crop quality or income, which depend on weather, soil, water, pests, diseases and crop management.
- Poor germination caused by storage, sowing depth, waterlogging, drought, heat, soil pests or chemical damage.
- Seed sown after the "valid up to" date, or without the lot number being available.
Our liability under this warranty is limited to replacement or refund of the seed price, as set out in our Terms and Conditions. Statutory rights that cannot be excluded by law are not affected.
