Contract Seed Production, Private Labelling and Export Documentation
Farmson Biotech Private Limited works with seed companies, distributors, institutional buyers and brand owners who need three things: production capacity against their own parent lines, their own brand on the pack, and export paperwork prepared correctly the first time.
We are a hybrid vegetable seed producer and exporter based in Ankleshwar GIDC, Gujarat, India, working across 25 or more crops. Alongside supplying our own varieties, we take on service work for other companies. Each of the three services below is quoted on its own, so you take only what you need.
1. Contract Seed Production
You supply the parent lines. We grow the seed. Contract production suits companies that own good genetics but do not have production land, grower networks or processing capacity in India, and companies that want a second production location to spread their risk.
Which crops we take
Any crop for which you provide the parent line. We are not limited to our own catalogue. If you hold the parent material and it can be produced under Indian conditions, we will look at it. Our own working experience is strongest across hybrid vegetables, so those tend to move fastest through planning.
Volume and area
There is no single published minimum, and any company that quotes you one without asking which crop is guessing. The land needed to produce a given quantity of seed differs enormously between crops, and isolation distance, season length and expected seed yield per hectare all change the answer.
So we fix the area and the volume with you directly, on an online meeting, once we know the crop and have seen the parent line details. You leave that meeting with a realistic area plan rather than a number that has to be renegotiated later.
How it works
- You send the brief. Crop, parent line details, the quantity of seed you are aiming for and the season you want it in.
- Online meeting. We go through feasibility, season fit, isolation requirements and the area needed to reach your target quantity.
- Plan and quotation. You receive an area plan, an indicative production window and a price for the work.
- Parent material and agreement. Parent lines are shipped to us under an agreed contract covering ownership, confidentiality and use.
- Production. Sowing, field supervision and harvest to the plan agreed.
- Processing and despatch. Cleaning, grading, testing and packing before despatch to you, with export documentation if you want us to handle it.
2. Private Labelling
Your brand, our seed. Private labelling suits distributors and agri-input companies who have a market and a brand but no production of their own, and who would rather build their own label than resell somebody else's.
Fully flexible on packaging
We are genuinely flexible here, and we mean all three of the usual arrangements:
- Your brand on our pack. We supply the packaging and print your brand on it.
- Your pack, our seed. You supply the packaging material and we fill it.
- A combination. Some formats one way, some the other, depending on what your market needs.
Minimum order quantity
Minimums are set by pack format, not by weight, so you can choose the fill size that suits your market:
- Pouch packing — minimum 21,000 pouches
- Tin packing — minimum 11,000 tins
Whatever fill size you specify for that format, the pack count above is the minimum order. A smaller fill size does not raise the minimum and a larger one does not lower it.
What we need from you
- Crop and variety, or a brief so we can propose varieties from our range
- Pack format, fill size and the quantity you want
- Print-ready artwork, or your brand assets if you want us to lay it out
- Any label wording your country requires — germination and purity declarations, lot marking, local language text
3. Export Documentation
Export paperwork is where shipments get held, and a document that is wrong at origin is expensive to fix at destination. We prepare the full export documentation set, and we do this every week for our own shipments across Africa, the Middle East, South Asia and the Caribbean.
Documents we prepare
- Phytosanitary certificate
- Certificate of origin
- Fumigation certificate
- Marine insurance
- Commercial invoice, packing list and the supporting set that goes with them
If your importing country asks for something not listed here, tell us what it is. We handle the full documentation set for our own consignments and will tell you plainly whether we can obtain a given certificate rather than promising and failing.
How these services are priced
Each service is charged separately, according to the service taken. They are not bundled into a single seed price and they are not offered free of charge as a sweetener. We think that is the honest way to do it: you can see what you are paying for, take only the parts you need, and compare our price for each line against anyone else's.
Contract production, private labelling and export documentation can be combined in one arrangement or taken individually. Pricing for each is confirmed in writing before work starts.
Common questions
Which crops do you take contract production on?
Any crop for which you supply the parent line. We are not restricted to the varieties in our own catalogue.
What is your minimum for contract seed production?
It depends entirely on the crop, so we set it with you on an online meeting rather than publishing one figure that would be wrong for most crops.
What is the minimum order for private labelling?
21,000 pouches for pouch packing, or 11,000 tins for tin packing, at whatever fill size you specify.
Can I use my own packaging material?
Yes. Your pack with our seed, your brand on our pack, or a combination of both — all three are possible.
Are these services included in the seed price?
No. Each service is quoted and charged separately according to what you take.
Where are you based?
